History

We are still in the process of growth & maturity
- 20 years in ministry -

Maranatha Reconciliation Church originated from anon-denominationMinistry which was called Maranatha Evangelistic Team International (MET). The ministry was founded by Bishop Rodrick Mbwambo back in 1990 with the aim of preaching the word of God. After seven years of cooperating with different denominations in preaching the word of God, the necessity of planting churches within MET was observed. Because of this great need, on 28th October 1997 MET was changed to a new body called Maranatha Reconciliation Church(MRC).

The name of the church was formulated from two languages that of Aramaic and English. The word ‘MARANATHA’ is an Aramaic word which means, “the Lord is coming”. I Cor 16:22. Reconciliation is an English word which means to reconcile. II Cor 5:18. As the two names denotes, MRC is an independent church following the Pentecostal movement with the task of preparing people for the rapture of the church. The most fundamental aims of the ministry include preaching the gospel, teaching, planting churches and helping the poor.

The church headquarters is located in Dar es salaam, Kigamboni District Vijibweni ward. So as to reach the church you may embark at the ferry a daladala destined for vijibweni, disembark at the bus stop called Mbuyuni- the church is located approximately 50 meters from the bus stop.

Since 1997 more than 100 new churches have been planted within other cities, town and villages of Tanzania. Under the leadership of its founder Rodrick Mbwambo, MRC serves the body of Christ and the community through Ministries to orphans and widows, the youth, women and children, operation Christmas child/the good samaritan, Operation Rehab (reaching the harlots), reaching the prisoners, mission to the students, counseling and micro development projects. So as to recruit new Ministers we conduct periodic bible school programs which are normally held in mid-year for three months.
