Women’s ministry

WOMEN ARE CATALYISTS
IN THE CHURCH MINISTRY

…among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome. In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.<br>Mark 15:40-47 (NIV)

Somewhere in the Bible it is stated that, a woman is a weak person. Beware, the weakness referred here concern her body and not her spiritual being. Concerning spiritual life, man and woman have the same quality. Again, weakness stated here has no relationship with the fact that, God selected man to be the head of the household helped by his wife. This procedure was planted to create harmony among the couples. Genesis 2:18, 21, 22.

Preventing women from rendering spiritual services are a cultural thing which has nothing to do with the word of God. When the curtain of the temple was torn apart the day Jesus Christ was crucified, a heavenly culture which gives spiritual right for both men and women to preach and teach the word of God was opened.

Prophet Joel in the old testament prophesied about the ministries of both men and women in the last days by saying; “…even on my servants, both men and women I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” Joel 2:29. We also believe that the words of Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 2:9 was both for men and women. Here Apostle Peter had this to say. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priest hood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Inside Maranatha Reconciliation Church, women and men enjoy the same privilege when it comes to serving the Lord. So as to make sure that men and women work concurrently, the church has established a department which deals with women issues. The department is aimed at enabling them to reorganize their abilities and talents in building the kingdom of God. The church believes that, given the right opportunities, women could accomplish wonders within the church and beyond.

In the church history, we read about many women who were used by God as the light and salt in this tasteless world. Among them was Perepetua who was beheaded in North Africa during the secondCentury AD, because of her faith in Christ. Other names include Kathryn Khulman and Etter Woodworth, just to mention a few. In the Bible we read about Esther, Deborah, Sarah, Hannah, Priscilla, Phebe and Dorcas.

Physically women can also perform tasks that were formally thought to be of men. For example, during the Second World War when all men were taken to battle, women were organized to take over the duties in industries formally done men. The world today witnesses big women names holding high positions in their nations and world organizations.

Believing on the great empowerment given to women by God. MRC shall continue to give them the chance and respect they deserve. Women in this church have the freedom to meet, at will so as to plan on how to elevate the standard of their families both spiritually and economically. We also have the right to stand on the platform to preach and teach the word of God.

CHILDREN

Children in the church are categorized according to their ages in three groups, which are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14. Special program have been prepared by the church to make sure that each of these groups is trained spiritually, mentally and physically according to its age.

It is common knowledge to all of us that our children exist in hard and dangerous times. The death rate for our children has shot up compared to any other time in the past. At present we also have a high number of children who are living in hard condition, orphans and other who are used to perform evil tasks. These evil acts include world music, distributing drugs and fighting. Satan is doing this knowing that by destroying them, he would also have succeeded in uprooting the church of tomorrow.

If any nation or church is to thrive it needs to do the following to its children: –

  • The children need love from those who look after them
  • They need good health
  • They need respectable upbringing
  •  They need to enjoy their childhood
  • Their daily physical needs have to be met
  •  Finally, they need good education

So as to block Satan from destroying the church, MRC has established a special department for children to deal with their problems while in the church and outside it. While a lot of money is spent on adult’s believers in many churches, MRC has decided to invest much on children. Children are the treasurer of the church, if it is not protected it will perish carrying the church with it.

That man of wisdom in the bible was right when he wrote the following words to show the importance of investing on our children. “Train the child in a way he should go, and when his old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 any ministry that has no well-trained children is just like a drought stricken jungle which is destroyed by fire. Show me a deep-rooted ministry and I will show you an army of trained children in that ministry!
