Church Planting and Outreach

MISSION: the heartbeat of God

For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
1 Thessalonians 1:8 (NKJV)

Maranatha Reconciliation Church is the fruit of non denomination ministry formally originated from the so called Maranatha Evangelistic Team International (MET). The ministry was founded by Bishop Rodrick Mbwambo back in 1990 with the aim of preaching the word of God. After seven years of cooperating with different denominations on preaching the word of God, the necessity of planting churches within MET was observed. Because of this great need, on 28 th October 1997 MET was changed and an independent Maranatha Reconciliation Church was born.

The name of the church was formulated from two languages that of Aramaic and English. The word ‘MARANATHA’ is Aramaic word which means, the Lord is coming. I Cor 16:22. Reconciliation is an English word which means to reconcile. II Cor 5:18. According to the two words we can come to conclusion that MRC is an independent church following the Pentecostal movement with the task to prepare the people for the rapture of the church. The most fundamental aims of the ministry include preaching the gospel, teaching, planting churches and helping the poor.

From the commercial city of Dar es Salaam where the church headquarter is located, already 100 other churches have been planted in thirteen regions within Tanzania, since 1997 to date. For the time being; under the leadership of its founder Roderick Mbwambo, MRC renders its services through the following departments; the Bible college, the orphans and widows, evangelism, the youth, the women and children, the Good Samaritans, Operation Rehab (reaching the harlots), reaching the prisoners, mission to the students, counseling and micro development projects.
