MRC Youth Ministry: Empowering a Generation on Campus and Beyond

At Maranatha Reconciliation Church (MRC), we believe that the youth are not just the future of the church, but an active and vital part of God’s work today. Our Youth Ministry is committed to empowering young people within and outside the MRC family to build a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and to remain steadfast in their faith amidst the challenges and worldly influences that seek to shake their spiritual foundation.

In a time where many young people face pressures that aim to compromise their faith and identity in Christ, MRC is standing as a spiritual home and a nurturing ground for the next generation of Kingdom ambassadors.

From our headquarters in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, under the leadership of Youth Chairman Isack Mahuvi—a lecturer at IFM College—together with his committee team, Mr. Boniface and Dr. Joshua Mkoma, we actively run outreach programs in local colleges and universities. Although the MRC Kigamboni youth committee spearheads these local initiatives, we are all under the spiritual oversight and guidance of National Youth Pastor Samwel Lazaro, who leads and directs youth ministries across all MRC branches in Tanzania. Some of the key higher educational institutions that we run outreach programs in the city of Dar es Salaam are:

  • Institute of Finance Management (IFM)
  • Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA)
  • College of Business Education (CBE)
  • Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA)
  • Dar es Salaam Institute of Accountancy (DIA)
  • University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)
    …and many others.

Our mission is not only to reach out but to father and mother these students, many of whom spend two to four years in these institutions. Those who find MRC as their spiritual home during their academic journey are nurtured holistically — spiritually, mentally, and physically — ensuring they are well-equipped to stand firm in their faith and purpose.

Through discipleship programs, campus fellowships, evangelistic outreaches, and mentorship, the MRC Youth Ministry is continuously engaging young people, encouraging them to be witnesses of Christ in their campuses and communities.

This is a mission we have embraced, and by God’s grace, we continue to expand, believing that a generation of bold, Christ-centered leaders is rising from our colleges and universities.
